In Ithaca, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 amβ6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (607) 319-0918. Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 31 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded hydroponics & indoor growing in Ithaca.
Ithaca is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ithaca follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place is lovely! I was like a kid in a candy store with the variety of seeds they had to offer, from chili peppers to tomatoes, to legal greenery, they have everything you might need. The gentleman at the counter was friendly, calm and pleasant, the store is clean and well maintained, and I plan to return here for my future gardening needs. The gentleman I spoke to really knew his stuff, and was more than willing to chat with us. He was generous with his time and information and I appreciate that immensely.

I drive 40 miles approximately to get to Planted Earth because I wanted to buy local but I donβt think they realize how dependent we become on a place then you canβt keep product in stock. But then when you come back to pick it up, theyβll tell you itβs gone already. We need another week. Iβm sorry I have really liked this store, but this is the third time since the beginning of the year. Iβm done with you.
